Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Loudoun County Criminal History. Opening a page, submitting a query, or using any part of the website signifies agreement with them. A visitor who does not accept the conditions should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Loudoun County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, Virginia, or federal government agency. The website and its advertising partners do not provide tools for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or another activity regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The material helps readers locate criminal-record sources for Loudoun County and Virginia. This is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Loudoun County Criminal History is a private reference website, not a government service. It does not keep official case files, retrieve records for a visitor, perform an official background check, or submit a filing on someone's behalf.

The content identifies custodians such as the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, Virginia courts, the Virginia Department of State Police Criminal Justice Information Services Division and Central Criminal Records Exchange, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Some pages also contain search features supplied by outside providers.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of Loudoun County Criminal History is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Violate federal, Virginia, or local law through the website
  • Use obtained information to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Rely on website material for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into an account, server, or other system
  • Operate a scraper, bot, or automated collection tool against the pages
  • Interfere with performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information reached through this website or a linked tool must not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Misuse may also violate criminal law. This restriction is especially important for the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Registry information serves lawful public-safety awareness and does not authorize vigilantism, threats, or discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Loudoun County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not prepare a credit report, consumer report, or background-check product. Its advertising partners likewise do not furnish the site's features for evaluating an applicant, borrower, renter, or insured person. Information from the website or a linked feature may not be used to:

  • Make an employment or termination decision
  • Evaluate an application for housing
  • Set credit terms or determine insurance eligibility
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated activity

An authorized official check should be obtained through the Virginia Department of State Police or another provider that is legally qualified for the intended use.

5. No Legal Advice

The website provides general information, not legal advice. Descriptions of Loudoun County charges, warrants, convictions, sealing, or expungement cannot determine how Virginia law applies to a particular set of facts. A licensed Virginia attorney can advise on an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All material and features are offered "as is." No promise is made that:

  • Every fact will remain accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will always be available or uninterrupted
  • The pages will contain no defect, error, or security weakness
  • An outside search provider will return a complete or correct match

Criminal records can change when a charge is filed, amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Updates and gaps may therefore affect older text or a search response. Only the court, sheriff, Virginia State Police, or another originating office can issue an official statement or record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to a sheriff's page, Virginia court portal, state office, legal-aid resource, or outside search service. A destination is independently controlled. Loudoun County Criminal History is not responsible for that service's content, availability, price, data handling, or terms. Review the destination's rules before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code are owned by Loudoun County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. They may not be copied, altered, distributed, or used to create a derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loudoun County Criminal History is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, including reliance on content or on a result supplied by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold Loudoun County Criminal History harmless from a claim, action, or demand caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including associated legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms. A legal dispute arising from use of Loudoun County Criminal History must be brought in a court located in Virginia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when it is published on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the extent required for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
